Getting There

Singapore is one of the best-connected cities in the world. Getting to Suntec is easy from anywhere.

✈️ From Changi Airport (SIN)

Changi Airport is consistently rated the world's best. Here's how to get from arrivals to Ai42:

Mode Route Time Cost
Taxi / Grab Direct to Suntec Convention Centre ~25 min SGD $20–35 (~USD $15–25)
MRT (Train) East-West Line → City Hall → Downtown Line → Promenade ~40 min SGD $2.50 (~USD $2)

Pro tip: Download the Grab app (Southeast Asia's Uber) before you land. It works seamlessly in Singapore and is the fastest way to get anywhere.

🚇 By MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)

Singapore's MRT is clean, fast, and air-conditioned. Two stations serve Suntec directly:

  • Esplanade (CC3) — Circle Line · 3-minute walk to venue via the underground walkway
  • Promenade (CC4 / DT15) — Circle Line or Downtown Line · 5-minute walk

Use the Suntec City exit at either station — follow signs to the Convention Centre.

Buy a Singapore Tourist Pass (unlimited MRT + bus rides) at Changi Airport or any TransitLink counter: SGD $22/day.

🚗 By Taxi or Ride-Share

Tell your driver: "Suntec Convention Centre, Tower 1 drop-off" — or simply enter "Suntec Singapore Convention Centre" in Grab or any taxi app. The venue has a dedicated covered drop-off point.

Parking: Multi-storey parking available at Suntec City. Rates approximately SGD $3.50/hour. Enter via Temasek Boulevard or Raffles Boulevard.

🚶 Walking from Marina Bay Area Hotels

If you're staying in the Marina Bay district (which we recommend — see below), Suntec is walkable:

Marina Bay Sands 12 min
Pan Pacific Singapore 5 min
JW Marriott South Beach 8 min
Fairmont / Swissôtel 6 min
Mandarin Oriental 10 min

Singapore in October is warm (28–32°C / 82–90°F) and occasionally rainy. Most walking routes are air-conditioned underground or covered — Singapore's underground walkway network is extensive.

Singapore Essentials

First time in Singapore? Here's everything you need to know. Repeat visitor? Skip to the bottom — we've got TOKEN2049 Week context too.

🛂 Visa & Entry

Citizens of most countries can enter Singapore visa-free for 30–90 days. Check your eligibility on the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website →

All visitors must complete a Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) online within 3 days before arrival — it's free and takes 5 minutes.

Need a visa invitation letter? Contact us → and we'll provide one for registered ticket holders.

💰 Currency & Payments

The local currency is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). As of 2025, USD $1 ≈ SGD $1.35.

Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted virtually everywhere. Contactless payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay) work in most places. ATMs are widely available.

You rarely need cash in Singapore — it's one of the most card-friendly cities in Asia.

🌡️ Weather in October

Singapore is tropical year-round. In October, expect:

  • Temperature: 25–32°C (77–90°F)
  • Humidity: 70–90% (yes, it's humid)
  • Rain: Brief, intense afternoon showers are common. Always carry an umbrella.
  • Dress for it: Light, breathable clothing. The venue is aggressively air-conditioned — bring a light layer.

🔌 Power & Connectivity

  • Power outlets: Type G (UK-style, three rectangular pins). Voltage: 230V. Bring a universal adapter if needed.
  • Mobile data: Buy a prepaid tourist SIM at Changi Airport (Singtel, StarHub, or M1 — ~SGD $15–30 for 7 days). Or use an international eSIM (Airalo, Holafly) — activate before you land.
  • WiFi: Available at the venue, most hotels, malls, and public spaces. Singapore has excellent 4G/5G coverage.

🍽️ Food & Drink

Singapore is a food paradise. Near Suntec, you'll find:

  • Hawker centres (local street food, SGD $3–8/meal): Makansutra Gluttons Bay is a 10-minute walk — right on the waterfront
  • Suntec City Mall (attached to the venue): dozens of restaurants and food courts at every price point
  • Marina Bay fine dining: CUT by Wolfgang Puck, LAVO, Ce La Vi — for post-conference celebrations

Alcohol: Widely available. Drinking age is 18. No-alcohol retail sales from 10:30 PM–7:00 AM, but bars and restaurants serve normally.

🛡️ Safety & Etiquette

Singapore is one of the safest cities in the world — consistently ranked #1 or #2 globally. Violent crime is virtually nonexistent. That said:

  • No chewing gum (seriously — import and sale is banned)
  • No smoking except in designated areas (hefty fines)
  • Tipping: Not expected. Some upscale restaurants add 10% service charge automatically.
  • Language: English is the primary business language. Zero language barriers.
